Watchaaa! Haiyaaaa!! Haha. Sound effects. Always, always heard that in the movies. A bit exaggerating maybe but could have worked to double the aura of a fighter. To be seemingly fierce and impregnable in the eyes of an opponent. But surely that's not enough if you don't have some martal arts skills! No luck in creating all those funny sounds and wails to get you out of trouble. Hehe. That's why I decided to borrow a Karate Warrior book- A guide for beginners like me. Am yet to attend a formal class but at least it gives me some ideas about combat techniques and self-defence. A Sensei. ^_^ Full of pictures and tips by the expert black-belt holder Austin St.John, or if you could recall, he acted as Jason the Red Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Haiz.. miss that first season and its original characters. Like it since I was a child. :) Tummy-rumbling hungry me then headed down to the KFC eatery together with Ibu and my 'lil sis after the visit to Jurong East Regional Library. Ibu bought two sets of Banditto pocket meals for us. Ooooh.. love the Cheese Fries!! And also the super duper Cappucino Crunch ice-cream. =D Hahaz. Couldn't forget this one particular scene. Accompanied my 'lil sis to a shop for a while and was startled a bit there when a friendly female staff asked,"Ni anak eh?" (Is she your daughter?) Haaa??! o_O "Ooh tak cik, ni adik saya.."(Oh no ma'am, she's my sister) *Sheepish smile* Adehh.. my Sis Ain surely cackled a lot like exploding firecrackers after we left the shop. *sigh* -_- Posted by Nurdiyana at 8:32 PM Nothing Transcends The Beauty of Allah's Creations. Syukran jazilan Sis Halimah for recommending me about it. :) Went there together with her last Tuesday. Toh Guan Road is not that far for me with a fairly 15 minutes journey on a bus no. 187 straight from home. The class is conducted in halaqah or "learning cicles" witb the Ustaz covering parts of Imam Nawawi's At-Tibyan and Imam Ghazali's Bidayatul Hidayah books each week. It lasts for more than an hour- but truly worthwhile indeed. Alhamdulillah. :) How great it is if my friends can be there too! *Wishing* Meanwhile, I've read Sis Halimah's latest post and discovered something new. English oldies do have that nostalgic sweetness which give a smacking tug to your heartstrings. That's exactly what I experienced when I went to Nanyang Polytechnic's open house on the eve of 'Eid. The song "Yesterday" by The Beatles was played on-stage by students from the Guitar Club. A musical onslaught. A good one that is. :) Though I think it would be wonderful if they could strum their talent to Richard Marx's quintessential heart melting number "Right Here Waiting". ^_^ Yosh~! But if they are not, well.. it seems that the heat moves up to my head and stays there for a while. 'Cos that what happens when I'm down with cold or fever. Haha.. :D *chuckles* Read this manga called Yakitate!! Japan. Just finished two volumes of it, but dear me it's hilarious! The characters in Yakitate are suitably eccentric that they are presented in such a way that bread making is portrayed much in the same way as a martial art. Though sometimes the storyline kinda goes crazily funny over-the-top and exaggerates way too much. Just imagine this. The people who take a bite out of those extraordinary breads could easily bend 90 degress backwards out of pure delight! *Ouch* With blinding golden rays of light as the special effects and *poof!* they are blasted waaaay off into outer space by the sensation in their mouths. Hahaha! =D Azuma Kazuma. Catchy name aye? In the story he has those pair of hands dreamt of by every baker whom they hailed as the "Solar Hands". Those who possess such warmth within could well create a perfecto bread. A so-called magical gift. Woah. That inspires me~! Hehehe. =) But in reality, it's real hard to master the tricks of a Chef. But no doubt that they are a wonder that comes forth flowing from a vast source of creativity and deep knowledge. He is a gifted man indeed. And a woman spoke, saying, Tell us of Pain. And he said: Your pain is the breaking of the shell that endoses your understanding. Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain. And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy; And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields. And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief. Much of your pain is self-chosen. It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self. Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquillity: For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen, And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears. Posted by Nurdiyana at 1:16 PM Many people do not know what photojournalism is at all. Photojournalism is photography intended to describe or document in pictures the events of individuals, groups of people, governments, history, and so on. Photojournalism gives us newsworthy photographs wherein the primary motivation is to recount a story, the photographer never disturbing the natural events in the scene. People are scared to see the real, sometimes hard life. They prefer to take a look at bloody stuff, but only if it is fake blood. Don't forget: real things are happening in the world, and it is our task to document the actual life on our planet to make sure that the knowledge of the mankind doesn't get lost. Or do you want to have a new Hitler, because everybody forgot what happened in World War II? A loss of information about our past is always a loss of liberty. Hair black as ebony. Skin white as snow... Aha! This part of the story is truly sweet~ Here's an excerpt I stumbled upon from this amazing website. After their supper in the cottage, the dwarfs put on an entertaining show with "The Dwarfs' Yodel Song." Dancing, singing, accordion playing, yodeling, and merriment accompany the music. The woodland creatures watch through the open window, moving to the rhythm. In one of the amusing segments of the entertainment, Dopey comically balances himself on Sneezy's shoulders, making them tall enough to dance with Snow White, but unwieldy when Sneezy explodes with a sneeze. After the music, they ask her to tell them a story. She remembers when she met the Prince: "Once there was a Princess...and she fell in love...Anyone could see that the Prince was charming, the only one for me...There's nobody like him, anywhere at all." Snow White breaks into song, "Someday My Prince Will Come": Someday my Prince will come Someday we'll meet again And away to his castle we'll go To be happy forever I know Someday when spring is here We'll find our loved one And the bees will sing And wedding bells will ring Someday when my dreams come true All the dwarfs are mesmerized by her, except for Grumpy, who sits by himself in a corner, murmuring: "Mush." =) Posted by Nurdiyana at 9:38 AM And yesterday was Sis Nad's birthday while Sis Halimah's was on the 4th January! Aku termangu sendirian.. Syarat apakah itu? Banglokah? Hantaran seribu serba satukah? Kereta mewahkah? Aksesori Habib Jewels kah? Barangan kulit Bonia kah? Mampukah saudara meletakkan kepentingan Islam melebihi segala-galanya termasuklah urusan-urusan dunia? Mampukah saudara menjual diri saudara semata-mata kerana Islam? Mampukah saudara berkorban meninggalkan kelazatan dunia? Mampukah saudara menjadikan Islam laksana bara api... Susah senang kita tempuh bersama. Aku terharu dengan segala kebaikanmu. Kau jaga akhlakmu. Kau pelihara maruahmu selaku muslimah. Isteriku..Tangkasnya engkau selaku suri.. Biarpun kau jua sibuk bersama mengembeleng tenaga selaku sayap kiri perjuanganku. Kau asuh mereka membaca Al Quran. Malah kau temani mereka mengulangkaji pelajaran di kala menjelangnya peperiksaan... Isteriku...Barangkali inilah kebenarannya ungkapan keramat. Tangan yang menghayun buaian boleh menggoncang dunia. Andai Saidatina Fatimah binti Rasulullah SAW masih ada, pasti beliau tersenyum bangga kerana masih ada srikandi Islam...SEPERTIMU..WAHAI ISTERIKU SAYANG.. Pick up the pieces of your soul that have been tossed into the dirt Pick it up, polish it off, and treasure it just as one would an echanted jewel that was once hidden far beneath the earth Torment your soul no more of your searching Let it find peace and satisfy that longing for the Beloved. For, "verily in the rememberance of Allah to hearts find rest..." Treat your soul with the comfort of prayer guard it with the shield of dhikr Remove those black spots with istighfaar and caress it with the Love of the Divine. Source: Muslim Writers Society |
