"Glitters? Coloured papers? How 'bout some permanent ink pens?" Waah..Have so many things to decide. *Dizzy dizzy* o_O My 4 friends and I were actually at the Popular bookstore+stationary shop @ Singapore Post Centre, busy checking up some things for our stall. Yeah~ Librarians wif a mission. Hehe. So we looked here and there, rummaging through all those pens, plus squealing at some cute teddy bears and stuff we found... Girls~ Heh! :P

Sekali masa tgh tengok2..pandang2.. My eyes suddenly caught hold of a pink(!) whistle. Dunno lah eh, but I think these eyes of mine can somehow become bionic when it comes to pink stuff...dolls, hearts keychains, plushies, etc.. best kaaaann~! ^-^ Ok...back to the pink whistle story. It was so pretty. Then I look at the back of the pack to check the price... $0.80!! Yay~ Then my eyes slowly scrolled down and read the instructions:

Emergency Sonic Call. Call for help, call on fire, call in any accident. The whistle is useful for the children and elder persons when they need to call for help. Cannot be used in any game or played as a toy because it has a sharp sound. Hmmm...bagus jugak benda ni. But come to think of it, it's better if I have some martial art skills. Who knows maybe I might need it someday.. If someone dares to sneak up behind me and do something...then, Haiyaaaa~!! Rasakan penumbuk sakti dari serikandi ni. Hah! Nah ambik niii...flying kick satu~ coming right up! Hahahaha.. :D Haiz...melebih pulak ana ni. Tapi betul kan apa ana cakap. Better be prepared. Aaaah...nak masuk silat! Hmm..lepas O-level lah~

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Was heading home from school when suddenly I felt like wanting to eat some chocolates. Hmm..had been long since I last had 'em( does chocolate ice-cream counts? hehe :P) So there I went zooming down to a nearby shop and quickly led my way to the oh-so-yummy Sweets section. Scanned the whole rows and rows..and rows of stacked goodies. Now what should I choose? There were just so many of 'em! Cadbury? nope- not halal. M & M's? Nah..Not really in the mood for some multi-coloured ones. Aha! Then I caught a sight of Malteser ( at first I thought it was Mat Leser ;P )..those hard-to-resist chocolates with honey-combed filling inside. Yummy-yum-yum!! So there I was happily paying the price at the cashier and then popped in some of them in my mouth. Ooooh~ >-< LoVely!

And just when I thought I could enjoy a moment of blissful happiness with only me and my chocolates, I caught a whiff of a familiar yet choking smell floating in the air. Ugh. Then I saw bundles of white smoke coming down from the staircase. Huh~ of course.. I know it all too well. It's that big mosquito spray machine. And why am I so familiar with it? Because back when I was in school, some people used to spray this thing at the houses outside our school, when -of all the time- during our recess break! So when we were just about to start eating, all that smoke would be blown directly towards our canteen and many of us would be scrambling with our plates of food. Hmph! It was really hard to breath in there..! >-< Ah..I need to get away!!

An ode to Al-Quran

Withered upon the cheeks of these meekly-stained pages,
In dreary ink blotted, and composed in archaic verses,
Unearth the pleasing presence of placid, placid phrases,
Calming be the words, for saddened hearts and poignant faces,
Born and bred of love, finer than the greatest playwright's crafting,
The Book from up above- it speaks the truth, harsh yet inspiring,
Stain it not with unclean hearts, nor impure thoughts or vile intentions,
for when come maladies, seek thee solace in its divine conventions...

The True IQ Test

Congratulations, Diyana!
Your IQ score is 122

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the True IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician. This means you are gifted at spotting patterns — both in pictures and in numbers. These talents combined with your overall high intelligence make you good at understanding the big picture, which is why people trust your instincts and turn to you for direction — especially in the workplace. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.

Salaam. Hey, it's Racial Harmony Day everyone!! ^-^ Hmm... It's kinda enjoyable watching all the school-going children wearing their traditional costumes..Malays wif their baju kurong, the Chinese with the Cheongsam and the Indians and their long-flowing Sari. Some are even sporting enough to try out their peers from other races' costumes. Imagine seeing a Chinese girl wearing a pink Baju Kurong to school. Lovely aight? ^-^

Well, my friends and I didn't do the dressing-up thingy though. But all of us did experience it once around 3 years ago. Guess our teachers thought that we had spent too much time looking around the class and eyeing our friends' beautiful clothes, that eventually distracted our concentration in class. And hey, it's true! We did keep on complementing each other on how nice we look, and saying,"Waah..your baju kurong soo sweet!" and all. heehee. So back to daily routine you guys...

But you know what? Some of my dear friends in class did actually think about making the day extra interesting for us and cooked up one creative idea. Yesterday, they printed out 30 flowers that came in colours of green, red and orange, and then patiently cut them out one by one. After the whole thing finished, they announced their small project in front of the class today and we were each given one flower. Green for Malays, Red for Chinese and Orange for Indian. But as it turned out, 90% of us are Malays- according to our IC. So we changed the plan and classified ourselves according to our blood. Like me, I am a Malay- following after my father. But they asked me to pick the Red one because I have a bit of the Chinese look. Hmm...dunno about that. O_o

I certainly am perplexed by what people comment about my face. Some say that I look like a Malay. And At one time during a fund raising drive that I participated this year, an old Chinese aunty came to me and said,"You Chinese girl? Do you know how to speak Mandarin?". heehee. But the hardest one was that my Ibu teased me that I look like someone from Uzbekistan! haha. ^-^ Okiez...actually I do have mixed blood. Malay+Chinese+Jawa+Indian+Bugis=??? Answer: Simply me. ^-^

Syair competition. Date: 31st July. And my friend Hannah and I will be in it. aaH!! This is getting so scary! Both of us have not a single idea how exactly to sing the syair. It's quite complicated as the tune could easily go high up and then took a deep plunge. Talk about some voice control..haha. And isn't the thought of performing in front of all the students and teachers soo unnerving? Eeep! >-<>. :P

I just checked out Hijjaz's website and I found this! All of my favourite InTeam's songs are in the album... better start saving up to buy this CD. heh~ ^-^

They say, "Oh poor girl, you're so beautiful you know
it's a shame that you are cover up your beauty so"

she just smiles and graciously responds reassuringly
"this beauty that I have is just one simple part of me
this body that I have, no stranger has the right to see
these long clothes, this shawl I wear, ensure my modesty
faith is more essential than fashion, wouldn't you agree?"

this hijab this mark of pietyis an act of faith,
a symbol for all the world to see
a simple cloth,
to protect her dignity
so lift the veil from your heart to see the heart of purity

they tell her, "Girl, don't you know
this is the West and you are free?
you don't need to be oppressed
asshamed of your femininity"

she just shakes her head and she speaks so assuredly
"see the bill-boards and the magazines
that line the check-out isles
with their phoney painted faces and their air-brushed smiles?
well their sheer clothes and low cut gowns
they are really not for me
you call it freedom, I call it anarchy"

this hijab
this mark of pietyis an act of faith,
a symbol for all the world to see
a simple cloth, to protect her dignity

so lift the veil from your heart to see the heart of purity

Hmm...there're some events happening right now in front of Noorlin Seafood Restaurant, which is located just two blocks away from my home. They had set up a really big white tent at the carpark and the place is decorated beautifully just like a wedding banquet, with all the lovely white and green cloth skillfully hung from one pole to another and even a floral grand entrance. Except that there's a big red-carpeted stage right at the front and around 200 chairs neatly facing the stage.  All the set-ups are for the maulid berzanji, some performance and also a syarahan which will later commence at 8 pm. And this morning after fetching my 'lil sis from her weekend madrasah, we came down to the place and bought two packets of Nasi Bukhari Amal there as told by my Ibu. hmm...but I think they are quite costly though for $9.50 per packet.. but as all the proceeds will go the Al-Mukminin mosque fund, I guess they're okay. Hope the event will be a success...InsyaAllah.

But the best thing is that the event management is playing nasyid songs real loud on the stereo! Yay!! My block is near to the place so what I need to do is to just stick my head close to the window and listen to the songs! haha. ^-^ And oh boy do I get really happy when  Nur Kasih was played... I even shook my sister and hopped around our room till my Sis Nad eventually snapped at me "Diyana!! Stop it will you!" haiz...guess I need to control my excitement a little bit...hehehe. Okiez...here's the lyrics to this wonderful song. ^-^

Nur Kasih by In Team

Bagaikan permata di celahan kaca
kerdipnya sukar tuk dibezakan
Kepada-Mu Tuhan ku pasrah harapan
Moga tak tersalah pilihan

Nur Kasih-Mu mendamai di kalbu
Jernih setulus tadahan doaku
Rahmati daku dan permintaanku
Untuk bertemu di dalam restu

C/O

Kurniakan daku serikandi
Penyejuk di mata penawar di hati
Di dunia dialah penyeri
Di syurga menanti dia bidadari

Kekasih sejati teman yang berbudi
Kasihnya bukan keterpaksaan
Bukan jua kerana dunia
Mekar hidup ini disirami Nur Kasih

(Doa)
Ya Allah kurniakanlah kami isteri dan zuriat yang soleh
Sebagai penyejuk mata

Ulang C/O

I have such great friends. Really. And oh, they're cool too! ^-^ Just recently they have created a special blog for us. Yes, all 24 of us in our Sec 4 Pink class! hehe. So now we can all post our thoughts, ramble on and on about simply nonsensical stuff, share our problems, and best of all, it's a place where we can get connected and simply, relaxxx... hehehe. Everyone was also needed to have a nickname that begins with 'star'. I chose starheart ! Others pick starshine, starlight, starcute,... and the list goes on till 20 more. Well, you can call that maximum blogging. haha. It's good that we all have a special place to be together. Even before this blogging thingy, we already have our own yahoogroups and circles99. I guess all of us feel that we all should get in touch, and through all these...we hope to protect our special bond even after graduation. InsyaAllah.... ^-^

Other than that, I also bought a bunch of beautiful flowers on the way home from school this afternoon. And they got a very sweet violet colour. ^-^ Actually I was just passing by the flower shop after buying some things at the stationary shop located beside it. But when my eyes happened to catch a sight of these lovelies, I just could not help but feel the urge to have them ! Who could ever resist? So I went ahead and asked the Chinese lady(after soo many times going back and forth pondering whether I should buy them or not) how much they cost. And you know how much? It just cost me $0.70 for a bunch of 7 flowers! haha...I was smiling from ear to ear upon hearing that. ^-^  But one thing that puzzled me was that the aunty said, " You want to pray ah?" And I was like, "Huh??". Then she asked the same question again. haiz... I think she thought I was going to pray using the flowers. hahahaha!!! I didn't know what else to say but just answered that I thought the flowers were beautiful(while trying very hard to prevent myself from exploding into a roar of laughter) ... After that, I kept smiling all the way home. Hmm...I wonder what the people who saw me smiling and hugging the flowers like that would think. I bet they would have thought ,Crazy arh you? hahahaha... ^-^

hmm...I wonder if my prince will come before the last petal falls...like the Beauty and The Beast. haha. ^-^ *here I go dreaming again*

Juz now after having our recess, my class received a surprise visit from Sis Hanani ! She's actually a former student of our madrasah aka seniorita and she just graduated from National University of Singapore. ^-^  It was really nice of her to come down to our school with her friend Sis Azma. I guess she wanted to meet our dear ustazahs and teachers...and also the young sisters at Al-Maarif. She looked so wonderful in her graduation robe and the mortarboard on top of her head. Much like a scholar to me. heehee. And best of all, she also visited my class and all of us took a picture together! Yay!!

Oh I wish I could be like her... no-  I wish all of my friends and I would be like her. That someday all of us would graduate from a university with a degree safely in our hands... and come back to help our beloved madrasah.. Some of my friends and I had talked about this, each voicing her own dreams. We dreamt of creating a beautiful and bigger building for our school, equipped with all the facilities needed so that more students would have the chance to learn the wonderful teaching of both academic and ukhrawi subjects, and experience the close-knitted ukhwah environment...like all of us did. And for those who plan of becoming future doctors, including me...we thought of setting up a clinic specially named   " Maarif Family Clinic"... hehe. Those are just some of what we hope to achieve..and I hope they will come true...  InsyaAllah. ^-^

It was really rainy this morning. No- make that a very heavy downpour. It was impossible to stay dry when the rain is blowing from seemingly every direction. Thank God I always bring my umbrella wherever I go. But then I guess it didn't help much 'cos with or without an umbrella, I still turned out the same- dripping wet. Only my tudung was spared. haha. ^-^ It was really chaotic with all the students from my Madrasah and also Tanjong Katong girls trying to fit under the small bus stop. Then came the frantic rushing to board the same bus. Argh. But the scariest thing was the loud clashing of thunder and bright lightning. Everytime it happened, the girls would shriek. And that certainly didn't help to make me relax. It was terribly scary because there was actually a fatal incident in which a guy was struck down by lightning there- the same fateful place. >_< Ya Allah..protect us from harm..

Salaam. Been too absorbed in my library projects. Have to design some colourful posters. Me still searching for information on Islamic-related and educational articles. Well, basically filling up the whole notice board. haha. It's hard work when you're trying to find someting that could grab the students's attention. What could possibly be attractive to them but both beneficial at the same time? I was thinking of putting up some poems, quotes from Al-Quraan and Hadis, kata-kata nasihat and also a fun stuff corner. But why oh why are most of them only interested in things related to love and so-called "teenagers' stuff"..? Sheesh. Haiz...was so sad when I took down some of the old posters this morning. They have all these tiny holes poked through the pictures! Argh. Maybe I should just put up a Big "Do Not Damage the Posters. Fine $100." sign. Then all the money could go to our Madrasah's Fund. Hmph!

Salaam. 'Afwan for the 3 days missing in action. hehe. Just couldn't get all my thoughts into the post. Must be writer's block I guess. Oh well. Everyone must have encountered that. Heeee~ don't want that to happen during my essay-witing exam. what a nightmare! o_O

Hmm...what did I do ya? *think think* Oh, I remember! Ibu wanted to change the look of our living room and so she started experimenting with different ways of arranging the sofa. Ibu loves to do that.
^-^ Sometimes when I come back from school, the moment I step into the house my eyes would be greeted with a new scenery. Believe me, it's really interesting! So yesterday Ibu and I were determined on moving the furnitures and all. We started pushing and lifting the heavy things around the room. Boy, was it hard work! I was so deprived of energy that I quickly lay splat on the sofa as soon as the whole thing finshed. Woah..so tiring. But somehow it really felt wonderful seeing my Ibu's happy face and the lovely new look of the room. It was certainly worth the effort. ^-^

Hmm...oh ya! Just wanted to let you know that it's Daniel Radcliffe's 15th birthday this coming 23rd July. Best wishes to the boy wizard. Heh~ he certainly looks different since his debut in the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone movie. Haiz...why is everyone growing up soo fast? Sheesh. and I'm already 16. Erk!

nur, the Right Job for you will allow you to be:

Personable and Creative

From that, we can tell you're a natural teacher and leader. You have a friendly nature and a genuine desire to help others, which makes you a valued member of society.

As a Personable type, you are a true generator of original thoughts. You probably like to think that you're equally as good at spinning old ideas as you are at projecting what might be possible in the future.

Your compassionate nature draws people to you. Because you can relate to others, you see yourself as a diplomat of sorts. You prefer to avoid disruption in the workplace if at all possible — especially if you can help others avoid discord.

You are particularly intuitive when it comes to reading some people. And because of your social smarts, people tend to like being around you. That's part of the power you bring to work. But unless you're in the right job, these strengths could be stifled.

Bismillahirrahmaanirrahim...

Amin.....

Green
What Color is Your Brain?

brought to you by Quizilla

At work or in school: I work best by myself. I like to focus on my ideas until my desire for understanding is satisfied. Sometimes, it is hard for me to set priorities because so many things are of interest.
With friends: I may seem reserved. Although my thoughts and feelings run deep, I am uneasy with frequent displays of emotion.
With family: I am probably seen as a loner because I like a lot of private time to think. I show love by spending time with my family and sharing ideas and interests.

Woke up this morning with a little headache. But Alhamdulillah it quickly disappeared as fast as it came. Mcm oreo cookies pulak..kejap ader kejap takde.hehe. ;) Then after solat and getting myself prepared for today's exam, I went downstairs and found myself heading towards the source of nice aroma lingering in the air. Ooooh..it actually came from our kitchen, where I found my Ibu busy preparing a breakfast for me. :) Ibu had cooked a simple but equally yummy meal- an egg mayo sandwiche and Ramlee burger. Mmmmm...they tasted as good as they looked! I was touched by mother's concern for me that I should have my stomach filled before sitting for the exam. Thank you Ibu, you're the most wonderful in my eyes.. :)

After setting off from home around 8.15am, I found myself thinking about the exam the whole journey. I felt my heart thumping faster than normal, and I was lost in my own thoughts. It was the uneasy feeling I always have when exam came- the intense nervousness, always down with a cold and also the twisting effect in my stomach. It's the same scenario I faced every single year. hmm...exam fever, maybe? But then I remembered Ibu's encouraging words which she had reminded me this morning,"Tenangkan hati, baca selawat banyak2 dan rehatkan fikiran. InsyaAllah, Diyana boleh lakukannya.." And then I felt soo much better.. :)

The exam was okay,Alhamdulillah. And I couldn't stop myself from smiling when it was over. After all, it was only a 30-minute Malay listening comprehension paper. and I had wondered why I had been so tensed before that. hehe. Then I rushed home because my plan was to go to Madrasah Al-Junied to watch Raihan's performance after that. Was thinking of changing into a pink jubah and head there afterwards. But then it didn't go as what I had planned it to be. My Sis Nad was sick and couldn't accompany me. My friends were not going to see the performance. Thus, I was left with a big heartbreak... :( I felt really sad because I had been anticipating the event for the whole week! The show was going to start at 5.00pm and end around 6.30 pm. And I know that I would reach home only at 8.00 pm. After dark- and that's not good if I'm all alone out there. *sigh*...maybe next time I could go and watch Raihan..

Yay yay yay...! My heart is simply bursting with joy! If I could just change into a 3 year old kid for a minute and show how excited I am feeling right now, I would already be jumping up and down and sing with Lala from the cute Teletubbies! heehee. ^_^ Okiez..there are actually two things that make my day...

1) I had a really wonderful time at school today. As tomorrow is Youth Day and the students will not be coming to school, our dear ustazahs and teachers had prepared something extra special for all of us. We were each given a notebook, a stapler and ice-cream!! Cornetto's ChocVanilla flavour to be exact. My friends and I also had an enjoyable small feast with the two large-sized pizza that our form teacher had bought for us. Syukran Ustazah! And not to forget, the 24 Big bars of Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds handed out to each one of my 23 friends and I as a gift from my english teacher, Teacher Sarinah. Mmmmm..Thank You Teacher!! We surely have became 24 delighted and bubbly girls. ^_^

2) Raihan is coming down to Singapore! Erm...Make that a Double Yay!! They are invited to perform at Madrasah Al-Junied Al-Islamiah in light of Prophet Muhammad's birthday celebration. There will also be the berzanji, an islamic talk by Ustazah Salbiah Omar at night and also a performance by Madrasah Al-Junied's very own nasyid group, Shoutul Jundil Muslim. Tried this from Sis Widz's blog. ^_^

Doctor Unheimlich has diagnosed me with
Diyanaosis
Cause:stress
Symptoms:tongue swelling, extremely enhanced vision, sudden chest pain, snoring
Cure:don't do it again
Enter your name, for your own diagnosis:

Wahahaha... what a true coincidence! hmm...if only the "extremely enhanced vision" is really happening to me. That would be such a great relief for me to have been cured from this short-sightedness of mine. hehe! Naughty me used to love reading books while lying on the bed. My bad habit had surely ended me with a pair of spectacles at the age of 9.*sobs* :( Too bad that it's too late now. Ah, nevermind. Now I'm simply contented with my frameless glasses and its light purple handles. No need to squint my eyes now. See? -O-O-

Poem

Healing by Hijabigirl
Pick up the pieces of your soul
that have been tossed into the dirt
Pick it up, polish it off, and treasure it
just as one would an echanted jewel
that was once hidden far beneath the earth
Torment your soul no more
of your searching
Let it find peace
and satisfy that longing
for the Beloved.
For, "verily in the rememberance of Allah
to hearts find rest..."
Treat your soul
with the comfort of prayer
guard it with
the shield of dhikr
Remove those black spots
with istighfaar
and caress it with
the Love of the Divine.
